Fall is in the air!

September is here and I notice one of my trees in my backyard has yellowing leaves. My favorite time of year is here! My Dad says I love fall because it is the start of the count down to my birthday and Christmas. He is probably right. My Dad and I have been doing A LOT of visiting and 'remember when" lately.

My Dad, like most men out there, hate the Doctor, hate annual exams, colonoscopy...etc. A couple months ago, I took my Dad in for a Dr. visit because he was having some trouble and one thing lead to the next and we are told he is in Stage IV metastatic prostate cancer....ugh. He knew he had some health issues for about 3 months. He didn't go to the Doctor because nothing "hurt". I can't think backward, only forward. I can help with today and make sure he is comfortable, support his wishes, and make each day count. Once he got the bone pain in his hip under control via radiation therapy. He has decided to do Lupron shots for the prostate. It doesn't treat the cancer, but it will prevent it from spreading.

Each visit is now filled with soooo much conversation. I don't recall my Dad ever having so much to say. He says he doesn't have time "to teach me" anymore....but I remember everything he has had to tell me.
1. Be simple with your needs and wants
2. Save
3. Love your family
4. Do not lie
5. Love what you do and market your creativity

My life is full of love, I am a proud Army Mom...my son is my world, I can't imagine life without my husband, my stepdaughter is a proud Mom to our grandson, and my Dad...is my hero!

I would love to take a moment to share what I create! I use bottles and vases my Dad has given me and decorate them. I enjoy crafting and have opened a shop on Etsy! My Dad feels recycling the glass is great for the enviroment and a cute way to add handcrafted items to your home!

Have a great Fall!
